Program Overview

Tri County Tech’s Medical Office Specialist program provides adult students with the knowledge and skills for success in the administrative procedures necessary to work in modern health care facilities. Students will learn medical terminology, customer service skills, maintenance of medical records, appointment scheduling, patient billing, and collections. Successful completion of this program will give students the skills to be successful in today’s health care professions. This program also covers the new ICD 10 medical coding that went into effect October 1, 2014.

A computer with internet access is required due to the blended learning environment for this program.

Program Length, Schedule, & Cost

  • 450 hours
  • Monday and Wednesday, 6-9pm
  • Students will spend approximately 10-20 hours outside of class on work, depending on their reading and typing skills.
  • $2,990

How To Enroll

The Medical Office Specialist program is open to adult students only. Classes run August through May and January through December (minus June and July). Acceptance into the program is based on availability, and applications are accepted year round.
