Oklahoma has many native wild edible plants which have been utilized through the centuries by wildlife and by humans. This class will teach you food foraging basics as well as introduce you to edibles that are available at different seasons. You will learn plant identification, harvest, food preparation, and nutrition profile of select plants.
About the Instructor:
Kenda Woodburn is an OSU Horticulture Extension Educator for both Osage and Tulsa Counties. She has a BS in Agriculture from Clemson University and an MS in Agriculture from the University of Florida. She has worked with edible plants for over 25 years and grew up foraging for wild edibles.
