Wilderness Survival isn’t about suffering in the woods. A few skills can go a long way in making a survival situation into an unplanned camping trip.
In this class you will learn:
- fundamentals of survival
- survival priorities
- basic navigation (without the use of a compass)
- primitive trapping
- wild plant identification
The class takes a gear-based approach to wilderness survival meaning that as long as you have a knife, a fire starting device, a metal water bottle, and some cordage you will be able to spend an unexpected night or two in the woods. We will be constructing a debris hut, walking up to two miles each day on rough uneven terrain, gathering firewood, carving traps, as well as many other activities. If you enjoy being outdoors, then this is the class for you. This is a basic level wilderness survival class suitable for anyone 14 years or older.
