Program Overview

The Early Care and Education program prepares you for a rewarding career shaping the lives of young children. The ECE program is located in the three-star, NAEYC accredited Child Development Center. You will gain hands-on classroom experience with children ages six weeks to five years. Early childhood professionals are concerned with the educational, emotional, and physical development of young children and work closely to build relationships with the children, their families, and communities.

After completing the ECE program, students will be prepared to apply for the National Child Development Associate Credential. Students will have the opportunity to be on the Oklahoma Registry, have their ELCCT Certificate, Master Teacher Certificate, and fingerprint background check, which are all required by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to be employed in the field of child care. A few of the sixteen courses of the program include Child Development, Developing Curriculum, Health and Safety for Children, and Nutrition for Children.
