The Tri County Tech 2017 Summer Camps will include career specific instruction/activities, field trips, instructor-led fitness, team-building, entrepreneurship lessons, and presentation skills. *Students can be dropped off as early as 7:30 am and picked up as late as 5:30 pm. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. Each morning, students will start their day with a fitness activity in Tri County Tech’s state-of-the-art fitness center. All classes will be taught by certified instructors, including National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT).

Electronics Camp

This camp is a continuous study of electrical safety, electricity and electrons, components, soldering, breadboarding circuits, software, digital, and binary. Students will be building a project they can take home with them.

Engineering Camp

Designed for first year campers! Students will work in teams to design and build catapults, mouse trap cars, bridges, gliders, CD printing, and some software applications while exploring general engineering fields.

Robotics Camp

Students will be given a challenge at the beginning of the week. They will have the week to design, build, and test a robot made out of VEX materials. Students will work in small groups to brainstorm. They will then design and build a prototype through preliminary testing.  Finally, they will build and program a working robot to complete the challenge. On the final day of camp, the students will compete against the other robots in the class in a tournament-style competition.

Computer Geek Camp

Campers will explore computer science careers, including computer technician, programmer, and network technician. Ever wonder what goes on inside your computer? Computer technicians work with hardware everyday. Join other computer geeks and learn about computer hardware. Explore the world of a programmer and learn how programmers ‘talk’ to the computer. Network technicians keep us connected. Ever wonder how the internet works?  Learn about IoE and computer networks.

Chef Camp

Campers will explore careers in the culinary and baking fields. Not only will students learn the basics of cooking and baking, they will also learn how to do so safely. Students will spend time learning basic knife skills and food safety. They will cook their own lunch and snack each day as well as help to prep items being served to other campers. Our end of week presentation will be a light meal or snack for parents/family.

Lab Rats Camp

Are you curious about what it would be like to be a laboratory scientist? The Lab Rats Camp is a unique opportunity for inquiring minds to engage in hands-on laboratory techniques based on several scientific fields, including forensics, microbiology, chemistry, and biomedical sciences.
