Students must have successfully completed the EMT program, passed the NREMT certification exam, be at least 18 years of age, and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check and drug screening and will need to provide a current shot record and Heartsaver CPR card.
Paramedic Anatomy & Physiology is a prerequisite‡ for the Paramedic Program. This course is designed to guide students through the systems of the human body and develop a basic understanding of the native language of the health profession. Students will study the microscopic and macroscopic anatomy along with the functions and processes of the structures of the human body (physiology). Topics include body organization, homeostasis, cytology, histology and the integumentary skeletal, muscular, nervous systems and special senses.
A computer with Internet access is required due to the blended learning environment for this program. Computer labs are available at Tri County Tech from 8:00am – 8:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00am – 4:00pm on Fridays.
