Tri County Tech Board of Education member recognized for 20 years of leadership and service to students and the community.

The Oklahoma State School Boards Association has named five school board members from across Oklahoma as the 2026 OSSBA All-State School Board, recognizing their outstanding service to their schools, students, and communities.
George Halkiades, Tri County Technology Center, was among the five board members selected for this year’s All-State Board.
As a Tri County Tech Board of Education Member, Halkiades has seen Tri County Technology Center through 20 years of development and growth. He has championed initiatives with students at the heart of every decision, strengthening academic programs, promoting student well-being, and expanding opportunities.
“George Halkiades has dedicated years of thoughtful leadership and unwavering service to CareerTech Education, always putting students, families, and our community first,” Tri County Technology Center Superintendent Tammie Strobel said. “His selection to the 2026 All-State School Board is a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to excellence in governance and his belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Tri County Tech is grateful for his leadership, proud of this outstanding honor and congratulates George on this well-earned achievement.”
His leadership has been instrumental in ensuring Tri County Tech remains responsive to Oklahoma’s workforce needs, and he has worked tirelessly to bring new opportunities to Tri County Tech students, including helping establish the district’s FIRST Robotics team and volunteering as its mentor. His passion for education and his community is evident. Outside of his duties as a board member, he has helped grow strong readers as a literacy tutor through Bartlesville Library’s Literacy Services program.
He is also a member of the Bartlesville Public Library Board, Rotary, and the Lowe Family Young Scholars Program. The Bartlesville Community Foundation recognized the way his leadership has strengthened his community and made a lasting positive impact with the Catalyst Award.
The winners were honored during the recent OSSBA/CCOSA Education Leadership Conference at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.
