Tri County Tech officially broke ground Thursday on its new Emergency Services Building, a facility designed to expand training opportunities for firefighters, emergency responders, and public safety professionals throughout northeast Oklahoma. Community leaders, industry partners, educators, students, and supporters gathered to celebrate the milestone and the beginning of a project that will strengthen workforce development and emergency services education throughout the Tri County Tech district.

"This groundbreaking marks our community's investment in the men and women who stand ready to serve, ensuring they have the knowledge, tools, and facilities needed to meet the challenges. Every great emergency response begins long before the 911 call. It begins with training, dedication, and preparation."

- Dr. Tammie Strobel | Superintendent and CEO of Tri County Tech

The new facility will serve as a hub for training, preparedness, innovation, and public service, providing students and working professionals access to enhanced learning environments, modern equipment, and hands-on training experiences.

During the ceremony, Strobel emphasized that the project represents more than the construction of a new building. It reflects a commitment to the individuals who answer the call when communities face their most difficult moments and an investment in developing a highly skilled emergency services workforce.

As demand for trained emergency personnel continues to grow across Oklahoma and the nation, the Emergency Services Building will help expand training capacity and create additional opportunities in firefighting, emergency medical services, and public safety.

Strobel also recognized the many supporters, partners, and community members whose vision and commitment helped make the project possible.

"Together, we are building something that will strengthen our students, support our first responders, and benefit communities across our district."

- Dr. Tammie Strobel | Superintendent and CEO of Tri County Tech

Construction is expected to begin immediately.
