Gatlin Scott | Adult Winner
Gatlin is a graduate of the Practical Nursing program at Tri County Tech. He chose this program after seeing the strong outcomes of its students and its impact on the community. He found the most inspiring part of his experience to be the supportive environment and the commitment from staff and peers to help students succeed. Following graduation, Gatlin plans to continue his education in an RN program and further his healthcare career.
“Gatlin approaches every class and clinical experience with focus, enthusiasm, and strong preparation. He leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to providing safe, compassionate care.”
– Jessica Guest | Health Occupations Coordinator at Tri County Tech
Gatlin shared that his former supervisor, Lyn McKee, has been his greatest inspiration, describing her as an exceptional leader, nurse, and mentor who helped shape his path in healthcare. Congratulations, Gatlin!
Jose Ortiz | High School Winner
Jose is a graduate of the Applied Welding Technology program at Tri County Tech and Bartlesville High School. He chose this program through the influence of family members already working in the field. During his time at Tri County Tech, he especially valued the hands-on learning opportunities and gained experience with different types of metal. He shared that the most inspiring part of his experience was the opportunity to continually learn new skills and concepts.
“Jose consistently demonstrates strong leadership, responsibility, and respect in the classroom. He takes initiative, supports his classmates, and takes pride in maintaining a positive classroom environment.”
