Practical Nursing

The Tri County Tech Practical Nursing program prepares adult students for an exciting career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

If you have a passion for helping others, nursing may be the professional career for you. In this 11-month program, students learn nursing skills through classroom theory and clinical application. Bookkeepers are one of the most critical positions within any organization. Tri County Tech’s Accounting program provides training in financial accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and software applications allowing individuals to become Full-Charge Bookkeepers. Students learn generally accepted procedures for double entry bookkeeping and then apply them in various automated applications.

Applied Welding Technology

The Applied Welding Technology program prepares you for a wide variety of career choices. A welding career can take you all over the world. Students will receive training on various welding techniques and procedures such as arc welding, oxyacetylene cutting, and gas metal and tungsten arc welding. Skills attained include shop organization, blueprint reading, and training for possible certification in Stick, TIG, and MIG welding. This hands-on curriculum is designed to teach you skills necessary to pass Oklahoma state code tests, most major company code tests for TIG and MIG, and stick pipe welding.

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) validates the ability to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. With a CCENT, a network professional demonstrates the skills required for entry-level network support positions – the starting point for many successful careers in networking. The curriculum covers networking fundamentals, WAN technologies, basic security and wireless concepts, routing and switching fundamentals, and configuring simple networks. CCENT is the first step toward achieving CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) which covers medium-size enterprise branch networks with more complex connections.

Emergency Medical Technician

Incidents, as varied as automobile accidents, heart attacks, drownings, childbirth, and gunshot wounds all, require immediate medical attention. EMTs and paramedics provide this vital attention as they care for and transport the sick or injured to a medical facility.

Clinical training through Bartlesville Ambulance and Jane Phillips Medical Center Emergency Room is included in the course. Upon completion of the training, students are expected to complete the state EMT Certification Test.

Measurement & Maintenance Technician

The Measurement and Maintenance Technician program offers a sequence of courses (270 hours total) which are designed to prepare individuals for employment in various manufacturing environments. This course includes face-to-face instruction and significant amounts of lab and hands-on experiences. While individuals are encouraged to complete the entire sequence of courses, a course may be taken as an individual stand-alone course with prior instructor approval.

Medical Office Coding

Coders must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology. Using codebooks, the medical coder assigns correct codes to record the service levels for the procedures performed and to account for supplies used to treat the patient during an encounter with the physician. Proper assignment of ICD-10-CM codes corresponds with the physician’s diagnoses and completes the “story” of the patient’s illness or injury. This curriculum is certified through the American Academy of Professional Coders and upon completion, the students may take the certification test to become a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

Paramedics are advanced providers of emergency medical care and are highly educated in topics such as anatomy and physiology, cardiology, medications, and medical procedures. Precision Machining Operations

Machinists are trained professionals who use machinery to make or modify metal, plastic, or wood products. Students learn the basics of setting up and operating machine tools like computer controlled mills and lathes, the drill press, grinders, manual metal lathes, and mills as well as using common metal-working hand tools, including precision measuring instruments. Key components of the Precision Machining course include blueprint reading, quality control, metal properties, and heat treatment of machine-ready metals.

Basic Guard Phase I & II

Security officers maintain safe and secure environments for customers, congregations, and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

This course gives students the training required by Oklahoma law to pass certification for Unarmed Security Guards. The course covers interpreting the Oklahoma Security Guard Act, performing first aid techniques, operating a fire extinguisher and firefighting equipment, writing field notes and reports, interpreting legal powers and limitations, public relations, interacting with Fire and Police Departments, performing fixed post duties, patrolling, and investigating security incidents.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

A Certified Medication Aide is a Certified Nurse Aide that is allowed to perform the administration of medication in the following settings: long-term care facilities, facilities for the developmentally disabled, residential care facilities, and adult day care facilities.

Students must provide a copy of their current Certified Nurse Aide certification card in LTC, HH, or DDCA issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Students must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and be currently employed as a CNA for the past six months. Students must provide TB skin test results from within the past 12 months.

Paramedic Anatomy & Physiology is a prerequisite‡ for the Paramedic Program.
