Program Overview
Build your healthcare language and prepare for your next step toward Practical Nursing.
Medical Terminology is a foundational hybrid course designed to prepare students for success in healthcare education and careers. This course is required for entry into the Practical Nursing program and focuses on the structure, pronunciation, and meaning of medical language. Students will learn Greek and Latin word parts that combine to form thousands of medical terms used in clinical settings, while developing the ability to identify prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms. Through a structured combination of online and in-person learning, students will analyze and interpret complex terminology by breaking words into simpler components, improving comprehension, retention, and confidence in both written and verbal communication within healthcare environments.
“I like the environment here. It feels like actual work experience.”
