Leave Benefits
Sick Leave
One day per contract month cumulative to 70 days. Sick leave may be taken in full, half-day, or hourly increments. Sick leave may be taken for self and/or immediate family members.
Flex Leave
10 and 11-month employees are allowed five (5) days of flex leave each year. Flex leave may be taken in full day or half-day increments.
Bereavement Leave
All full-time employees are allowed three (3) days of bereavement leave each year. An employee may use this leave upon the death of an immediate family member. Bereavement leave may be taken in full or half-day increments.
Professional Leave
May attend professional development activities with the approval of the supervisor.
Parental Leave
New parents receive six weeks of paid leave immediately following the birth/adoption of a child after one year of service.
Annual Leave
12 month employees accrue:
1-5 years = 6.7 hours per month (10 days; 2.5 days per quarter)
6-15 years = 10 hours per month (15 days; 3.75 days per quarter)
16+ years = 13.34 hours per month (20 days; 5 days per quarter)
11 month employees accrue:
20 non-contract days
Holidays
24 Holidays per year. The number of days may vary from year to year.
Insurance Benefits
Medical Insurance
Tri County Tech will pay $640.28 per month toward the employee health insurance premium as a fringe benefit each year. Employees who elect premiums less than $640.28 will receive the remaining balance as cash. Employees who elect insurance premiums over $640.28 will be responsible for the overage.
Employees covered by an ACA-approved group medical plan (other than that offered by Tri County Tech) have the option to receive a salary in lieu in the amount of $600 per month.
Telemedicine Coverage
Employees are covered through Lyric for 24/7 telemedicine services. This program allows employees and immediate household members to connect via telephone or video conference with a licensed, board-certified physician who can review the employee’s health records, perform a diagnostic assessment, and write a prescription if appropriate. This service is free to all employees and members of their immediate household regardless of the primary medical insurance carrier.
Section 125 Benefit Plan
Out of pocket medical, dental, vision, and dependent daycare expenses may be deducted and paid for with pre-tax dollars.
Dental & Vision Insurance
Tri County Tech will pay $30.00 per month toward the cost of employee dental and/or vision insurance premiums as a fringe benefit each year. Employees who elect coverage over the sponsored amount will be responsible for the coverage. Employees who do not elect coverage, or do not use the entire benefit amount, will forfeit any remaining amount. This benefit is not eligible for salary in lieu.
Disability
Tri County Tech will pay the premium for long-term disability insurance which will provide the employee a monthly benefit of $500 after 14 consecutive days of disability. The employee may choose a buy-up option that will provide up to 70% of his/her basic monthly earnings.
Life Insurance
Tri County Tech will pay the premium for the employee to receive $20,000 in life insurance. This policy can be increased at employees’ expense. Employees and eligible dependents can participate in additional life insurance plans available through Employee Group Insurance Division, American Fidelity, and various vendors.
Supplemental Insurance
Supplemental Policies such as Cancer, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Critical Illness are offered to Employees at their expense through American Fidelity.
Workers’ Compensation
All employees are covered by Worker’s Compensation insurance.
Additional Benefits
Teacher Retirement (approximately 7% of your salary) is paid in full by the District. Teacher retirement (approximately 7% of employee’s salary) is paid in full by TCT.
Savings Plan 403B
The Board of Education provides TCT employees with a sponsored savings plan to encourage employees to save for the future. The employer match is dependent upon the availability of funds and is at the discretion of the Board. If there is a match, the Board will determine the amount annually for the ensuing fiscal year.
Educational Assistance Plan
Educational Assistance Plan provides reimbursement at the rate of $1,500 per fiscal year for undergraduate college courses and $2,500 per fiscal year towards a graduate degree in a relevant field or content area in which the employee is currently employed.
Employee Assistance
Tri County Tech provides an assistance program for employees and family members living within the home. The program will provide initial assistance with such things as work stress, parenting challenges, dealing with anxiety and depression, anger control, alcohol/ drug abuse, and dealing with grief or loss, at no cost to the employee.
Reduced Childcare
Employees receive 50% off tuition from the Early Learning Lab. 5-Star NAEYC National Accreditation
