Join us this summer for our annual STEAM Summer Camp at Tri County Tech! STEAM Summer Camp is a fun-filled, week-long day camp offering one to two themes every day for kids currently enrolled in grades 3-9.
Participants will choose their camp program, featuring fun & exciting themes in a safe, small-group instruction environment. STEAM Summer Camp is from 8:30am – 3:30pm with lunch, morning & afternoon snacks, and a t-shirt.
Art Camp provides high-quality enrichment experiences in the visual arts. Classes are taught by artists who design fun, challenging and educational projects. Campers will create a variety of artworks, including but not limited to weaving, jewelry making, paper mache, drawing, and painting.
Cooking is a universal life skill that offers a unique opportunity to explore math, reading, chemistry, geography, and history. Campers will also focus on art and creativity; presentation and the use of colors can make a dish taste even better. They will try their hand at main courses, appetizers, and desserts.
During this action-packed camp, students will explore the aerodynamics of flying objects by building and flying a kite, a hot air balloon, an airplane, and a parachute. Campers will also learn basic drone rules and safety while learning to fly drones.
Campers will work in teams to design and build catapults, mousetrap cars, bridges, and gliders and also experiment with design software applications and 3D printing. All this, while exploring general engineering fields.
Join the ranks of the “maker movement” and test your design skills in this camp. Campers will work like expert engineers and innovative inventors as they learn concepts and software to design an item and manufacture it in our creation center. Campers will learn about 3D printing, laser engraving, electrical circuits, etc.
Amateur Film Fest Camp will take campers through the wild world of the film industry. Turning ideas into cinematographic reality, campers will work through brainstorming, storyboarding, shooting, editing, and finally premiering their work on Friday in a Film Festival type of event.
Gross. Yuck. COOL! Does your camper enjoy getting a little messy? Gooey creatures, waste disposal, and body odor are just a few of the disgustingly awesome topics we will be checking out this week. The best part? It smells just like it sounds –wonderful!
Campers will be given a challenge at the beginning of the week! They will design, build, and test a robot made out of VEX materials. Campers will work in small groups to brainstorm build a prototype through preliminary testing. Finally, they will program a working robot to complete challenges.
