Oklahoma’s Only Joint-Use CareerTech, Boys & Girls Club Facility Announces Ribbon Cutting

Wednesday, October 12, 2022

The Tri County Tech Nowata Business Development Center and the Boys & Girls Club of Nowata announced today an upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house at the new joint-use facility in Nowata which will take place on October 18. As the community’s needs have evolved throughout the years, leaders for both organizations recognized the alignment of the missions of the two organizations and their abilities to serve Nowata. As a result, they developed a partnership that they hope will inspire children and adults to achieve their full potential by providing quality youth development services and life-changing learning experiences through the new center.

“Tri County Tech’s presence in Nowata will help spur economic development for existing and future businesses by providing a state-of-the-art training facility,” said Tammie Strobel, Superintendent/CEO of Tri County Tech. “Partnering with the Boys & Girls Club will give young people a unique opportunity for a life-changing learning experience. We are excited about this initiative and look forward to watching Nowata thrive.”

The state-of-the-art facility, approximately 22,500 square feet, includes dedicated spaces for Tri County Tech and the Boys & Girls Club of Nowata as well as shared areas such as classrooms, a commercial kitchen, and community meeting rooms.

“The Boys & Girls Club is thrilled to be able to impact more kids in more ways as we open this new facility. Our bold goal is to help level the playing field for kids – providing them with resources to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults,” said Brynn Barron, Executive Director of the Nowata Boys & Girls Club. “Our partnership with Tri County Tech will allow us to serve Nowata youth ages five and up and provide a direct pipeline to trade and technical classes and increased opportunities for successful futures!”

“We are thrilled about this partnership and the potential it has to transform our entire community,” said John Woolman, the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors Vice President.

Community members and leaders are invited to join the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on October 18, 2022, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at 300 South Pine Street in Nowata.
