Tri County Tech Receives Generous Donation from Public Service Company of Oklahoma

It was a sunny morning last week, Michael Gordon, Manager of Community Affairs for PSO, arrived at Tri County Tech with a big smile and a bigger check. He was there to offer a helping hand, and a check for $50,000, as Tri County and the Boys and Girls Club of Nowata embark on a journey to impact countless lives in Nowata county.

Tri County Tech along with The Boys & Girls Club of Nowata plans to begin breaking ground on a new facility in Spring of 2020. This ambitious feat would not be possible without the generous donations and support of the communities and organizations like Public Service Company of Oklahoma.

“We are excited to partner with Tri County Tech. The Nowata project is a great opportunity for investment in a community we serve.”

– Michael Gordon, PSO Manager of Community Affairs

PSO has a long history serving the people of Oklahoma. They have ensured Oklahoman’s have the energy necessary for their daily lives, but now brings a new form of energy to a community here in Oklahoma. PSO is a vital component to bringing this brand new facility to Nowata, “We are honored to be a contributor to this project where we know bright futures will not only begin but will be nurtured, cultivated and grown,” said Gordon. This generous donation will help the mission of TCT and The Boys & Girls Club to positively impact the lives of children and families for generations to come.

“We are so humbled PSO has joined us on this exciting journey. Their selfless investment into the Nowata Community will touch countless lives, helping Tri County in its mission to provide superior training.”

– Lindel Fields, Superintendent & CEO

The Tri County Tech Foundation, who leads the project, pledges no individual will be denied an education due to a lack of funds. This pledge fuels the mission to inspire success through life-changing learning experiences and truly make a difference in the lives of Tri County Tech students. The facility will offer a wide range of learning experiences for students of all ages. The site will include a teen computer lab, a FAB lab featuring two bays, a commercial size kitchen perfect for cooking classes and event catering. Children visiting the Boys and Girls Club will enjoy two outdoor classrooms, common areas teeming with games such as foosball and air hockey, as well as a full-sized gym. The Nowata project marks a milestone in the journey to bettering Oklahoma and the lives of the people who call it home. The state of the art building will be constructed at 300 S. Pine Street, Nowata, Oklahoma.
