Advanced Emergency Medical Technician | AEMT
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician | AEMT
Program Overview
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program prepares you to deliver basic and limited advanced emergency care and safely transport patients when they need you most. Build the skills to assess, treat, and stabilize patients in the field and on the move — and be the vital connection between the scene and the emergency healthcare system.
In this program, you’ll review EMT-level knowledge and dive deeper into shock and fluid therapy with intravenous infusion, advanced airway management, pathophysiology, and general pharmacology. Under medical oversight, you’ll gain hands-on experience using the advanced tools and equipment found on today’s ambulances. Take the next step toward an in-demand EMS career — and make a life-saving difference when every second counts.
Students will be required to complete a minimum of 140 clinical hours in addition to the 180-hour class. Background checks, shot records (or titer tests) for Flu, HBV, COVID series (or waivers), Varicella, TDAP, and MMR are required before the first day of class. Additional costs may include books, PPD, drug screening, black EMS uniform pants, black boots, and other supplies. The PPD and drug screen deadlines will be provided by your instructor.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available through the Tri County Tech Foundation for our Full-Time and many of our ACD programs. After you are accepted into a program, you will receive a financial assistance application. The form must be filled out and turned in with the most recent two months of pay stubs for every working member of your household.
Our main goal for financial assistance at Tri County Tech is to assist financially disadvantaged students who would be unable to get the education they deserve. Assistance consists of grants, scholarships, and employment. An individual might participate in one or more resources, depending upon eligibility and need.
We do not accept funds from FAFSA or PELL.
